USAF General Officer Assignments: 22 July 2009
Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
Air Force Maj. Gen. Christopher D. Miller has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general with assignment as deputy chief of staff, strategic plans and programs, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Miller is currently serving as director, plans, policy and strategy, North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.
Air Force Maj. Gen. William J. Rew has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general with assignment as vice commander, Air Combat Command, Langley Air Force Base, Va. Rew is currently serving as director, operational planning, policy and strategy, deputy chief of staff, operations, plans and requirements, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
The chief of staff, Air Force announced today the following assignments:
Maj. Gen. William L. Holland, vice commander, Ninth Air Force, Air Combat Command, and deputy commander, U.S. Air Forces Central, Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., to Commander, Ninth Air Force, Air Combat Command, Shaw Air Force Base, S.C.
Brig. Gen. David L. Goldfein, who has been selected to rank of major general, deputy director programs, deputy chief of staff, strategic plans and programs, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C., to director, Air and Space Operations, Headquarters Air Combat Command, Langley Air Force Base, Va.
Brig. Gen. Jack Weinstein, director, plans, programs and analyses, Headquarters Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., to deputy director programs, deputy chief of staff, strategic plans and programs, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
Col. John W. Raymond, who has been selected to the rank of brigadier general, commander, 21st Space Wing, Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., to director, plans, programs and analyses, Headquarters Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.
Brig. Gen. Jim H. Keffer, senior military assistant to the under secretary of defense for intelligence, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Pentagon, Washington D.C., to deputy director for intelligence, Multi-National Force-Iraq, U.S. Central Command, Baghdad, Iraq.
Brig. Gen. Gregory L. Brundidge, deputy chief of staff, communications and information systems, Multi-National Force-Iraq, U.S. Central Command, Baghdad, Iraq, to director, command, control, communications and warfighting integration, Headquarters U.S. European Command, Stuttgart-Vaihingen, Germany
