Army General Officer Nominations dtd October 2010

The chief of staff, Army announced today the following assignments:

Brig. Gen. Clarence K. K. Chinn to, commanding general, Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk, Fort Polk, La.. He most recently served as deputy commanding general (support), 82d Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.

Brig. Gen. John W. Nicholson Jr., director, Pakistan/Afghanistan Coordination Cell, The Joint Staff, Washington, D.C., to deputy chief of staff for Operations, International Security Assistance Force, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.

The chief of staff, Army announced today the following assignments:

Maj. Gen. Theodore C. Nicholas to deputy director, Signals Intelligence Directorate, National Security Agency, Fort Meade, Md. He most recently served as director, J-2, U.S. Forces-Iraq, Operation New Dawn, Iraq. Brig.

Gen. Stephen G. Fogarty to deputy chief of staff for intelligence, Headquarters, International Security Assistance Force, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan. He most recently served as director, J-2, U.S. Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.

Brig. Gen. Gregg C. Potter, vice director for intelligence, J-2, The Joint Staff, Defense Intelligence Agency, Washington, D.C., to commanding general/commandant, U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence and Fort Huachuca, Fort Huachuca, Ariz.

Col. James B. Burton, who has been selected for the rank of brigadier general, executive assistant to the secretary of defense, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Washington, D.C., to deputy director for operations, National Military Command Center Operations Team Two, J-3, The Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.
