Army General Officer Nominations dtd June 2010
Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates will announce at 1330, 28 June 2010, in Washington DC, that the President has nominated:
Lieutenant General Joseph F. Fil, Jr., United States Army, for reappointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as The Inspector General/Commander, United States Army Inspector General Agency. He is currently serving as Commanding General, Eighth United States Army/Chief of Staff, United Nations Command/Combined Forces Command/United States Forces Korea.
Major General William J. Troy, United States Army, for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as Director of the Army Staff, Office of the Chief of Staff, United States Army, Washington, DC. He is currently serving as Commanding General, United States Army Alaska/Deputy Commander, United States Alaskan Command, Fort Richardson, Alaska.
Brigadier General Sanford E. Holman, United States Army Reserve, for promotion to the rank of major general. He is currently serving as Vice Commander, Joint Warfighting Center/Deputy Joint Force Trainer (Individual Mobilization Augmentee), United States Joint Forces Command, Suffolk, Virginia.
Colonel Timothy E. Trainor, United States Army, for promotion to the rank of brigadier general and assignment as Dean of the Academic Board, United States Military Academy, West Point, New York. He is currently serving as Professor, Department of Systems Engineering, United States Military Academy, West Point, New York.

Fil is currently serving as the commanding general, Eighth U.S. Army/chief of staff, U.N. Command/Combined Forces Command/U.S. Forces.
Army Maj. Gen. William J. Troy, for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as director of the Army Staff, Washington, D.C. Troy is currently serving as the commanding general, U.S. Army Alaska/deputy commander, U.S. Alaskan Command, Fort Richardson, Alaska.
Army Reserve Brig. Gen. Sanford E. Holman has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Holman is currently serving as vice commander for Joint Warfighting Center/vice director for joint training, J-7, (individual mobilization augmentee), U.S. Joint Forces Command, Suffolk, Va.
Army Col. Timothy E. Trainor has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Trainor is currently serving as professor, Department of Systems Engineering, U.S. Military Academy, West Point, N.Y.
