Army General Officer Nominations dtd May 2010

The Chief of Staff, Army announced today the following assignments:

Maj. Gen. Gregg F. Martin, to commandant, U. S. Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, Pa. He most recently served as commanding general, U. S. Army Maneuver Support Center of Excellence, and Fort Leonard Wood, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.

Reserve Brig. Gen. Lawrence W. Brock III, commander, 359th Signal Brigade, Fort Gordon, Ga., to deputy chief of staff, C-6, Coalition Forces Land Component Command/commander, 335th Theater Signal Command, Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Iraq.

Brig. Gen. Heidi V. Brown, deputy commanding general (sustainment), I Corps and Fort Lewis, Fort Lewis, Wash., to director of integration, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8, U. S. Army, Washington, D.C.

Brig. Gen. Arnold N. Gordon-Bray, deputy commanding general, U. S. Army Cadet Command, Fort Monroe, Va., to deputy director of Operations and Facilities Headquarters, Installation Management Command, San Antonio, Texas.

Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates announced today that the President has made the following nominations:

Army Lt. Gen. Lloyd J. Austin III for appointment to the rank of general and assignment as commanding general, U. S. Forces-Iraq, Operation Iraqi Freedom. Austin is currently serving as director, The Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.

Army Lt. Gen. David H. Huntoon Jr. for reappointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as superintendent, U.S. Military Academy, West Point, N.Y. Huntoon is currently serving as director of the Army Staff, Washington, D.C.

The Chief of Staff, Army announced today the following assignments:

Maj. Gen. Dana J. H. Pittard, deputy chief of staff, operations and training, U. S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Fort Monroe, Va., to senior commander for Fort Bliss, Fort Bliss, Texas.

Brig. Gen. Edward P. Donnelly Jr., deputy director of strategy, plans and policy, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7, U. S. Army, Washington, D.C., to director, joint and futures, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8, U. S. Army, Washington, D.C.

Brig. Gen. Raymond P. Palumbo, deputy commanding general, U. S. Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, N. C., to commanding general, U. S. Army Alaska/deputy commander, U. S. Alaskan Command, Fort Richardson, Alaska.

The chief of staff, Army announced today the following assignments:

Army Reserve Maj. Gen. Bruce A. Casella, to commanding general, Army and Air Force Exchange Service, Dallas, Texas. He most recently served as commander, 63d Regional Support Command, Moffett Field, Calif.

Maj. Gen. Joseph L. Votel, deputy commanding general, Joint Special Operations Command, U.S. Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, N.C., to chief of staff, U.S. Special Operations Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.

Army Reserve Brig. Gen. Douglas P. Anson, director, legislative affairs, international military affairs, U.S. Special Operations Command, Washington, D.C., to deputy director of operations, J-3, U.S. Special Operations Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.

Army National Guard Brig. Gen. David B. Enyeart, assistant adjutant general/deputy commanding general, U.S. Army Maneuver Support Center, Oregon Army National Guard, Salem, Ore., to deputy senior military representative/chief, North Atlantic Treaty Organization Advisory Team-Sarajevo, Bosnia.

Brig. Gen. Anthony R. Ierardi, director, joint and futures, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C., to director of force management, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.

Brig. Gen. Kevin W. Mangum, deputy commanding general-center, U.S. Division-Center, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Iraq, to commanding general, Army Special Operations Aviation Command, Fort Bragg, N.C.
