NAVY ANNOUNCEMENTS: JUNE 2009

  1. There will be a Retired Navy Flag Officer Symposium on July 9 at the Catering and Conference Center onboard the Washington Navy Yard, in Washington, DC. Retired Flag Officers living in the mid Atlantic region (DC, VA, WV, MD, NC, SC, PA, DE, NJ) should be receiving an official invitation from the CNO Protocol Office. Feel free to forward to others living outside the mid-Atlantic area. As soon as I get specific info, I will have it posted on the TFGON website.

  2. For Retired Flag Officers living in the DC area or planning to visit, a Retired Flag Officer Breakfast Meeting (one of a series arranged by RADM (ret) Jay Yakeley) is scheduled for June 23, hosted by VADM (ret) Gordon Holder of Booz Allen Hamilton. The Breakfast Meeting will be in the Crystal City offices of BAH in Crystal Square 2 at 1550 Crystal Drive, Suite 1100. If you desire to attend, please RSVP to Gordon and his assistant, MS Carter Jaqueth by June 18 at Holder_G-Admin@bah.com, or at 703-377-4078. The breakfast runs from 0730-0900. CNO, ADM Gary Roughead is our scheduled speaker.

  3. I had used the CNO Retired Flag Web Site to send a "broadcast" e-mail with info about TFGON organization, events, and registration. Unfortunately, the Retired Flag web site is woefully out of date. In addition to the TFGON web site and newsletter, I would like to make the Retired Flag web site a more useful tool with which to pass the word. Would request that if you have an account, you visit and update your personal info and e-mail address. If you do not have an account, please contact me and I will point you in the right direction.
